30-Year Fixed Mortgage Rates Still Below 5%
Greetings neighbors,
For the second straight week now, 30-year fixed mortgage rates are still below 5.00%. Market rates for these mortgages have fallen to 4.94% showing a decrease of five basis points compared to 4.99% the previous week according to the Zillow Mortgage Rate Monitor.
15-year fixed mortgages dropped eight basis points to 4.33% last week from the previous week's number of 4.41%. In addition, 5-1 adjustable rate mortgages also took a dive of 13 basis points to 3.93% from the previous week's 4.06%.
As for mortgage requests, those numbers pretty much stayed the same compared to the previous week's. Last week's request included: 32% for refinance loans compared to 31% the previous week, 66% for purchase loans which stayed the same, and 2% for home equity loans which also stayed the same.
