BurgerFi in 12th & Midtown

by Zac Pasmanick - The Zac Team @ RE/MAX Metro Atlant

BurgerFi in 12th & Midtown

The developers of 12th & Midtown announced Thursday that quick-service chain BurgerFi will come to its new apartment tower 77 12th Street. It will occupy 3,600 sq. ft. and is scheduled to open there later this year.

Burgerfi offers a unique "better burger" experience and promotes sustainable and healthy lifestyles. The beef is certified grass-fed, free range, and free from antibiotics and growth hormones. The chairs are made from recycled soda cans, and the picnic benches are made from 900 former milk jugs. Fries are cooked in peanut oil, and its custard is made from cane sugar.

“We are in the process of changing the way people view burgers,” Nick King, chief operating officer of BurgerFi, told Atlanta Business Chronicle last August.

During that time, BurgerFi revealed that they have 15 planned locations in Georgia. To date, it has announced locations at the Emory Point development, Alpharetta, and Kennesaw. Future locations and restaurants might include some near The University of Georgia, and possibly a company-owned store in Buckhead, King had said.

Historic Craigie House in Midtown SAVED

by Zac Pasmanick - The Zac Team @ RE/MAX Metro Atlant

Historic Craigie House in Midtown SAVED

The Historic Craigie House in Midtown across from Piedmont Park has escaped demolition and is about to be turned into a single family home. The historic structure was bought by Bert Sanders and Laura Koch for $350,000.

“We've always loved that beautiful place," Sanders told the Chronicle. "We look forward to being responsible for bringing it back.”

The structure was built in 1911 and served as the former location of Georgia's first chapter house of Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) organization until 1985 when it was damaged by a fallen tree.

The property is listed on the National Register of Historic Places but it’s not designated as a local landmark by the Atlanta Urban Design Commission, and the home did not have any designation for historic protection.

Two years ago, the Craigie House was named a “place in peril” by The Georgia Trust for Historic Preservation, but with its new owners it looks like the house will stay for younger generations to see.

In 2012, NAR's Released their Profile of Home Buyers and Sellers and revealed so many exciting and relevant information regarding home buying and finding your perfect home in an Open House. Some Home Buyers prefer to search for their desired home online, but statistics show interesting data that may affect how home buyers see Open Houses. Here are a few statistics you may find helpful.

• In 2012 45 percent of all buyers used an open house as a source in their home search process.

• Repeat buyers are more likely to find their home from an open house than first-time buyers and repeat buyers use open houses more frequently.

• Mid-income buyers, those with income between $55,000 and $75,000, are most likely to find their home through an open house compared to those in other income brackets.

• Older buyers, 65 years and older, are more likely to find their home through an open house than other age groups. As age increases, the likelihood of using open houses as a search tool increases—45% of buyers aged 45 to 64 used open houses compared to only 28% of buyers aged 18 to 24.

• Buyers in the South are most likely to find a home through an open house compared to those in other regions.

• Buyers of new homes use open houses much more frequently than do buyers of previously owned homes.

• Married couples and unmarried couples are more likely to walk through open houses than single buyers.
