Dear Neighbors,
Hello this week from the Manchester Grand Hyatt in sunny San Diego where I am attending the Mike Ferry Superstar retreat! Below is an email that I send out every Wednesday morning to my fellow real estate agents here in Atlanta and I wanted to share it with you this morning.

I just read an optimistic article yesterday from Lisa Schoolcraft at the Atlanta Business Chronicle with developers predicting that the market will soon pick back up. Historically low mortgage rates and Obama’s anticipated stimulus package have led one developer to express the opinion that the large number of new homes will start selling by mid-year, leading to a stronger second half. A lot riding on Obama’s stimulus package. The rumble has been increasing lately about Obama’s stimulus package, including how exactly to handle the remaining $350 billion from the original stimulus package this past fall. The focus is turning more towards lifting up the housing market in ways that the first package didn’t fulfill (oops). Read more on Bernanke’s thoughts here...

Peach State offers up low rates. reported last week that Georgia has the second lowest average mortgage rate in the country according to their Mortgage Rate Monitor. Click here for more.

A breath of fresh air. Here are a few notes from day one of the conference this week, among them encouraging words on the decrease in competition and the increase in potential listings. Read more from Mike here!
And here are a few notes from yesterday on creating consistency in your real estate business...
New listings and new prices from the zac team @ REMAX Greater Atlanta

For our new listing on Briarlake Road, our sellers wrote an article on their home and its wonderful features. You can read it here!

Looking for 100% commission? I am thinking about adding a new group of agents to my organization where the fees would be $250 per month, $250 per transaction, and 100% commission to augment my menu of services and benefits. We would maintain a hands-off approach, letting sales associates tailor their relationships with clients in whatever way they think is most effective. If this interests you, please give me a call to discuss at 404.564.7272.

For all of our current zac team opportunities, check out the careers page on our website!
And if you have friends who are interested in joining the business, we also have a link on our careers page to real estate licensing, appraisal, and home inspection schools!

What is the walkability of your listings? This is a cool tool that many of you may know about where you can out in the address of one of your listings (or your own home) and it will rate it based on how close it is to shops, restaurants, and public transit. This could be a great listing tool to use, especially as people move back intown and look for alternate transportation! Check it out here.

Support the Georgia Conservancy and Shop Whole Foods today! I wanted to share this email sent out by the Georgia Conservancy: "Whole Foods in Buckhead has generously named the Georgia Conservancy the recipient of 5% Day on Wednesday, Jan. 14, 2009. As a part of this event, 5 percent of all sales at Whole Foods in Buckhead will be donated to the Georgia Conservancy to support environmental advocacy and education in Georgia. Georgia Conservancy staff and volunteers will be on hand at the store throughout the day distributing information on what it means to be a Georgia Conservancy member. So, stop by and say hello, and get out there and shop! Whole Foods Buckhead is located at 77 W. Paces Ferry Rd N.W., Atlanta, Ga."

A referral fee is better than nothing! Have some listings you wish you’d thought twice before taking? Don’t plan on renewing some of them? Don’t let them keep you down anymore - give me a call and I will pay you a referral fee for them. Please call me directly at 404.564.7272.

Best wishes for a successful week!
