A recent report from the U.S. Department of the Treasury and the Department of Housing and Urban Development released data results for the Administration's Home Affordable Modification Program (HAMP) for March 2010.

According to the loan modification report, over 1.4 million homeowners received an offer for a trail modification in addition to 1.1 million borrowers who received an average savings of $500 per month.

The report also showed that more than 230,000 homeowners were granted permanent modifications in addition to 108,000 permanent modifications approved by servicers which are pending borrower acceptance.

All in all, there has been a cumulative savings of more than $3 billion in relation to  homeowners' lower monthly mortgage payments under HAMP.
