Greetings neighbors,

We are aware that some families may be moving or relocating during this holiday season. As we all know, the holidays can be a little hectic therefore we know it can be extremely hectic for those who are relocating. Here are a few tips for those who may find themselves relocating during this holiday season.

Tip 1: Prepare for the cold weather - When packing, remember to keep your warm clothing out, do not pack up all of your winter clothes no matter where you're moving to or from. You should also plan for the winter weather and keep a shovel nearby for unexpected snow. In addition make sure your utilities such as heat or gas are up and running at the new home.

Tip 2: Be prepared for possibly being blue - Relocating to a different state can be difficult enough but relocating during the holidays may be extra difficult especially if there are children involved. Make sure you pack holiday decorations in a place that is easily accessible for you to take out upon arrival at your new home. If you and your family are on the road the day of, plan a stop at a family member or friend's house to celebrate. For those who are moving away from family and friends utilize the latest technology such as the internet, computer cameras, cell phones, and etc to communicate with loved ones.

Tip 3: Shop before the move if possible - Because the malls and stores are crowded during the holiday season already which it's stressful within itself, buy your gifts before you move and pack them to go. This will be less stress on you after arriving at your new home.

Tip 4: Remember family is what's important - Although it may be stressful during this time of year, moving with your family can lead to lots of quality time with your family during the holiday season. Remember to enjoy every bit of it!
