However, sellers have been finding new ways of getting out of their homes without using an agent or putting it up FSBO - listing it with an online matching service to seek out those looking to move into their area and trade their own home. Case-Shiller index report released. On the front cover of today’s paper was an article with statistics from Case-Shiller’s most recent report. And the good news? Atlanta’s market stayed stronger almost a year longer than the national median and didn’t experience as big a spike as other metro areas. While our home prices here dropped 14.6 percent from our peak by November 2008, the overall average drop was 25 percent. Read more here!

BeltLine threatened by Georgia DOT & AMTRAK. Yesterday, news hit the streets out of the blue of the Georgia DOT and AMTRAK attempting to undermine the City of Atlanta and the Atlanta BeltLine and take over the rail corridor located in the Northeast section of the city. Read more here and spread the word about the meeting this afternoon at Trees Atlanta (225 Chester Avenue) at 4:30 p.m.!

Twelve Atlantic Station homeowners sue. After losing their skyline views of downtown Atlanta, eight residents of Twelve Atlantic Station are suing the developer of their building for putting up a new condo building across the street. Read the article here...

Bucking the national trends. While the rest of the nation saw a rise in office vacancies, Atlanta actually saw a decline. In addition, business seems to be either moving back intown or deciding to set up shop in the city. Suburban office vacancies rose while the downtown area saw a decrease from 13.5 to 12.6 percent from the end of 2007 to 2008. Read more here!
