Dear Colleagues,
Yesterday morning, the AJC ran an article with the uplifting news that pending home sales were on the rise in December 2008! "The National Association of Realtors said that pending home sales rose 6.3 percent in December, with string gains in the South and Midwest." The article wasn't online yet at the time of this writing, but you can check it out on page B3 of yesterday’s paper. The Atlanta Business Chronicle also ran a similar article online yesterday which you can read by clicking here.

Condo auctions continue.
Several weeks ago, Tribute Lofts took to the auction block in an attempt to relieve their inventory list and now Element in Atlantic Station is following suite. The developer still owns 35 percent of the building’s 322 units and plans to auction them off at the W hotel in downtown Atlanta on February 28th. Read more here...

Millard Fuller passed away yesterday. The founder of Habitat for Humanity and the Fuller Center for Housing died yesterday after a brief sickness that lead to chest pains and difficulty swallowing. Over the span of his life, Fuller helped build more than 300,000 affordable homes for underprivileged families and individuals and earned the Presidential medal of Freedom, the nation’s highest honor. He is an influential man who will be missed. You can read obituaries here...
